You will meet Anthony on your initial show-round and he also has numerous useful jobs on a wedding day from moving Ceremony chairs to changing light bulbs. However he is still in training for the foreseeable future!
Alison will also meet you on your initial show-round and has full reign in designing new interriors for the ever growing bedrooms. Like Anthony, Alison is still in training!
Venue Operations Manager
Alex heads up the whole day to day operation of the venue. You might meet her in your initial show round or one of your planning meetings with the events team. Alex also runs our Taster Event Experience Evenings along with planning new developments, and if chief taster for the new menus.
But more Importantly, Alex is on hand daily to ensure the final details are carried out for your special day.
Laura will answer most of your questions either on the phone or by email. She will contact your suppliers to discuss set up / drop off etc., types up all notes from the first time you meet the events team, to your final meeting – a really important job in the organizing of your day. Known as Birdy.
PA to the Venue Operations Manager
Gill supports Alex with the Venue Operations, having previously worked for the Cambridge University Press for 25 years. Gill sends all the Terms and Condition contracts to our couples and assists Laura with the office event co-ordination. Gill is also a Bride of The Old Hall, having held her Wedding here in 2013.
Sam helps us on the accounts and invoicing side of things. Sam will email you your payment reminders for the venue hire. The email address for invoices is: email@example.com

Head of Events
Amy has a wealth of experience working in restaurants – Kings in Newmarket and outside caterers – The Moveable Feast. Amy heads up our ever growing events team and you will meet her at one of your meetings and at our Taster Event Experience Evening.
Amy also oversees all Christmas, New Year and Private Parties, along with running wedding and event days.
Miriam’s experience comes from catering and events, and most recently from Center Parcs. Miriam joined Amy in the events team in October 2016 to work closely with our couples in planning meetings, and also like Amy, will run the wedding and event days.
Miriam is responsible for the day to day scheduling of the Front of House & Bar Teams.
Billy joined us as our Senior Sous Chef having experience working in hotels and restaurants. Billy Co-Owned a coffee shop & sandwich bar in Cambridge, The Urban Shed. He has gained all round knowledge from working at outside catering events and behind the bar in pubs.
Rory joins us with knowledge gained from a variety of restaurants & venues, including Paddocks House and Kings Newmarket. Rory & Billy together develop new menus and requested dishes to wow your guests.
Lucy joined us to look after all the housekeepers (it’s a big task!). Lucy previously gained a wealth of experience working for Signet Apartments in Cambridge. Lucy will ensure that all the bedrooms look stunning for your guests, and you may even see her at breakfast!
Our growing front of house team will look after your guests from serving canapés to the wedding breakfast. We train our team from having menu, service and drinks training. Our waiting staff are all dressed in our Old Hall Ely uniform. The team are experienced and will look after your guests throughout the wedding breakfast.
Our bar team come from a wealth of experience from working in London to local Ely Pubs. They will look after your guests throughout your wedding day and serve the drinks during your drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
The House Keeping Team are our all-round team. Warm and friendly, they not only keep The Old Hall Ely looking immaculate, but they are on hand during your wedding to help look after you and all your guests.
