Alison and Antonia Morbey

The Morbey family have owned The Old Hall since the 1830’s with each generation adding their own unique character to the property. The current generation diversified The Old Hall in 2010, to offer couples and their guests’ exclusive weddings, luxury accommodation and delicious dining options. 

Alison remains head of the house, ensuring every guest feels at home during their stay and receives a warm welcome and family hospitality. She is also responsible for managing all the improvement projects and has full reign in designing and updating interiors throughout the house. Alongside Alison, her daughter Antonia now plays a key role in the day-to-day running of The Old Hall, with both family members offering couples seeking the perfect venue a personal guided tour. Antonia is also responsible for Marketing alongside Operations, getting hands on in every event hosted at our unique venue.

Laura Daraskevice
General Manager

Laura joins us with a wealth of experience from various hotels and luxury lodge destinations from London and throughout Norfolk and brings with her an amazing ability to create the perfect staycation for all of our guests. She puts guest experiences at the centre of all we do here and makes sure that all of our team live and breathe the same sentiment. Laura understands the importance of every event we hold her at The Old Hall and this drives her to ensure each occasion, from weddings to Sunday lunches, is an experience not to be missed.

Amy Royal
Head of Events

Since joining the team in 2015 with a strong background in hospitality, Amy has gained an incredible amount of knowledge about The Old Hall, our events and couples. Amy heads up our ever growing events team, training them to the highest standards and ensuring every event here runs like clockwork. She oversees all Christmas, New Year and private parties, along with running wedding and event days. When you choose to book your occasion with us, you’ll meet her at one of your meetings.

Amy has fond memories of each event here and is still surprised at the differences in each and how inventive our guests can be to continually bring new and innovative ideas to their weddings, parties and events.

Stacie Shipp
Events Manager

Stacie’s experience in customer service is longstanding, she joined our team after working for TUI in amazing destinations including the Dominican Republic and Spain where she was responsible for providing the best customer service to make every customers experience memorable. This is evident in her amazing ‘yes’ attitude, making sure every event she manages here at The Old Hall comes to life exactly how our customers had pictured.

Matt McInally 
Events Manager

Matt has been a member of the The Old Hall family since 2020, having worked a variety of different events with our bar team. His friendly and professional attitude, organised personality and passion for the industry has helped him progress, seeing him join the events team in 2022. Matt’s outgoing personality and solutions based attitude makes him an asset to all the events he is part of here and he’s excited to help all of our customers and guests bring their visions to reality.

Kirsty Martin
Events Manager

Kirsty is very familiar face to many here at The Old Hall, having worked in a variety of positions throughout the business she is now a valued Events Manager, supporting our guests throughout their events and occasions. Her breadth of knowledge of the business always gives her a great advantage when planning events for all occasions. You might meet Kirsty at one of your meetings or seamlessly running your event on the day and you’ll be sure to remember her friendly personality and helpful attitude.

Billy Balaam
Head Chef

If you’ve had an event, occasion or dined with us since 2015 its likely Billy has been your Chef. He has vast experience in the industry, having trained in a variety of hotels and restaurants.

Billy creates and develops all of our menus and cooks delicious dishes for our fine dining evenings alongside our weddings and events. He tries to make sure each event has the personal touch and his precision and attention to detail is evident in his presentation. He focusses on local, fresh produce matching tastes to seasons making sure his dishes are not just aesthetically pleasing but packed with complementary favours. Billy also manages and trains our team of Chefs to the highest standard, ensuring your event catering runs flawlessly and is memorable each and every time.

Lauren Pitt
Office Administrator

Lauren is the first face (or voice) most of our guests will have the pleasure of meeting here at The Old Hall. Lauren is the bridge between guests and couples and the Event Management team, where her attention to detail and organised nature ensures nothing gets missed. She’s also the voice on the end of the phone, taking most of the calls in the office, alongside being the first person most of our guests will meet when they arrive here. Lauren’s cheerful personality and helpful attitude ensures all of our guests have the visit they deserve. 

Lucy Jex
Marketing Executive

Lucy joined us in 2021, having worked in marketing and communications since leaving university. She’s responsible for our marketing, PR and communications campaigns making sure our guests are aware of the busy schedule of events we have here throughout the year. This includes creating and managing our content to raise awareness about our beautiful bedrooms, delicious dinners and incredible events. 

Gill Beeton
PA to the Proprietor

After 25 years in her previous role, in September 2016, Gill joined The Old Hall team as PA to Mrs Morbey. This means Gill has a very varied role, supporting the team with venue operations and office co-ordination. Gill also sends all the Terms and Condition Contracts to our couples and has accrued a great knowledge of the inner workings of The Old Hall throughout her time here.

Gill is also a bride of The Old Hall, having held her wedding here in 2013 giving her a real advantage when she is asked for her advice from couples about their wedding plans.  

  

Nick King
In House Accountant

Nick has been with us since 2019. having been an accountant since he left school, working predominantly in hospitality accounts. You’ll receive your invoices from Nick and may speak to him if you ever have a query or need any clarity. He’s incredibly efficient at processing and making sure our event payment schedules remain on track.

Nick has also had his own pub in the past so has experience of both the administration and operational side of hospitality.

Tammy Coppen
Events Support

Tammy is one of the first faces many of our visitors see as she has such a varied role. She started with us on the bar and is often front of house in our restaurant at both breakfast and dinner time, as well as serving our delicious afternoon teas. If you’re getting married here with us, Tammy knows all the in’s and out’s of The Old Hall, having been here since 2015. She is often heavily involved in all of our weddings as a massive support to the couple and key member of the Events team on the day.

Marc Hunt
Bar Manager

Marc is a long standing, valued member of The Old Hall team. Not only does he train all of our new team members to the highest standard, he also makes sure our bar runs smoothly at every event. Marc is also known to make a delicious cocktail and is happy to work with event organisers and couples to offer their guests a variety of special drinks to suit each theme.

Our Front of House & Bar Team

Our growing front of house team look after all of our guests from serving canapés to the wedding breakfast. Our waiting staff are all trained to the highest standards and dressed in our Old Hall uniform so you can identify them easily. The team are experienced and will look after your guests throughout the wedding breakfast.

Our bar team come from a wealth of experience and put customer service at the top of everything they do. Not only do they serve a wide range of wines, beers and mixers, they make a fantastic selection of cocktails and drinks to help make each occasion unique.

Rasa Brickuviene
Head of housekeeping

Rasa is in charge of maintaining our high standards of cleanliness throughout the house. She busily manages a team of ten housekeepers with the help of supervisors Toyah and Saida, who look after our rooms, the communal spaces in the main house and cleaning the marquee after events. She’s been in the industry since 2017 and her experience certainly shows. As you’ll notice when you visit we have many quirks throughout the house, from trinkets to memories and china, Rasa makes sure they all get the attention they deserve to continue to look their finest.

Tomas Urnikis
Head Gardener

When you visit us here and admire our topiary garden, with manicured lollipop trees and detailed flower beds or perhaps stroll around our lawns with picturesque lakes and bushes in the shape of swans its all the hard work of Tomas, who has been our head gardener since August 2016. Alongside managing our gardening team Mark and Laima, Tomas also helps to manage and co-ordinate many of our improvement projects and bring Mrs Morbey’s visions to fruition.
