A Gorgeous Summer Wedding in The Orangery

A note from the Couple
We are so glad we chose the Old Hall for our wedding venue, no matter how clueless we were in planning, the team were amazing and really helped us to feel comfortable and like everything was under control.
We were originally going to have an outdoor wedding but due to the downpour throughout our wedding day we had to move everything inside, and we can honestly say that thanks to the amazing team and the beautiful orangery we couldn’t have been happier with how it all went.
We didn’t have to worry about a single aspect of our day, we were so well looked after from the moment we arrived. The team made sure we knew where we were going and when, that we had all the food we wanted and that there was a drink ready for us whenever we could do with one.
Everyone at our wedding kept saying how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food was! Even the evening fish and chip cones were a huge hit.
Looking back at all our photos and videos we do not have a single bad thing to say about the Old Hall as a venue and as a team, and we would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
We can’t wait to go back for future special occasions!
The Wedding Day at The Old Hall Ely
Our exclusive use wedding venue was Alec & Carys’ for the weekend and our experienced events team made sure they had the perfect wedding they had always dreamed of. The wedding day began with Carys arriving at The Old Hall Ely in the morning for her bridal hair and makeup in the honeymoon suite whilst the set up commenced behind the scenes. The groom, Alec, arrived shortly after alongside his groomsmen before the ceremony began at 1pm in The Orangery.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle whilst their loved ones celebrated with confetti! The drinks reception included prosecco and pimms as well as canapes consisting of goats cheese, tempura prawns and beetroot & white bean on croute.
At 3pm guests moved into the stunning Marquee, just before the fantastic three course wedding breakfast was served. Alec & Carys decided on a menu consisting of chicken liver parfait, slow cooked beef and pan seared seabass, which their guests enjoyed.
Speeches commenced after the dinner, from the father of the bride, the groom, the bride and the best man before the evening guests arrived. Alec & Carys had their first dance as a married couple to “Rule the world” by Take That and then the party started with guests taking to our starlit dancefloor!
Evening food of fish and chips was served before guests ended the night in the comfort of their luxury hotel rooms and the weekend ended with a full breakfast in the morning in our lakes dining room.
