Jordan & Lauren
A Summer Sunday In August
6th August 2023
A note from the Couple
We got engaged Christmas Eve 2021 and were already looking at venues and planning our day by January 2022. We had looked at other venues but as soon as we arrived at The Old Hall Jordan and I knew that was where we were going to get married. It felt so special right from that very first visit.
We had been together for 5 years and our wedding day felt even more special then we could have imagined. All of our plans came together and because of the wonderful team at the old hall the day ran smoothly with everything going to plan. We didn’t quite get the hot weather and sunshine we had planned for an august wedding but it really didn’t matter.
The Wedding Day at The Old Hall Ely
Lauren and Jordan had a stunning summer wedding on Sunday in August, which began with the bride arriving for hair and makeup at 11am in our honeymoon suite. Whilst the Groom also arrived with his groomsmen, our events team worked on ensuring the venue was ready for the big day, as well as making sure our sweet cart was full and looking beautiful!
As guests were ushered into the beautifully decorated marquee, prosecco was served before speeched commenced from the groom, the best man and the maid of honor. After the speeches, the wedding breakfast consisted of three perfect courses including curried fishcake, roasted pork belly and raspberry bakewell.
The coffee station was set up after guests enjoyed the fine dining experience at The Old Hall Ely, just in time for the extra 42 evening guests arrived for the party! The cake was cut and our dancefloor was revealed for the couples’ first dance and then guests took to the dancefloor to celebrate.
Evening food is always a popular time of the wedding day, with a traditional evening buffet served at 9pm including sandwiches, scotch eggs and tomato and mozzarella bruschetta. After guests enjoyed the buffet pick me up, the dancing continued until the night ended at 1am and those staying overnight relaxed in their luxury hotel rooms. Photography by Michelle White.
