A note from the Couple
As soon as we turned into the drive way of The Old Hall, we knew it was the place we wanted to have our wedding day and it certainly did not disappoint. We had the most amazing day, things could not have been more perfect. The staff were organised and attentive from the start of the planning process, no task was too much to ask for. They liaised with all our suppliers and on the day we could relax knowing that everything was taken care of.
We were lucky enough to get married outside, however, one of the reasons we chose The Old Hall was that is gave us a beautiful setting for our special day, whether inside or out!
All the guests commented on what an amazing venue it was, how great the food tasted and how fantastic the staff were and we couldn’t agree more!
The Wedding Day at The Old Hall Ely
Lauren and Luke’s wedding day started bright and early with Luke arriving just before his bride to be, to start the celebrations with his best men.
The Groomsmen enjoyed some well needed beers and bacon rolls whilst they got ready for the big day. Just across the hall, Lauren and her bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done before Lauren surprised her loved ones with a beautiful dress that they were not expecting!
The ceremony began at 1pm outside, at the pavilion, and they were officially Husband and Wife! The drinks reception could also be held outside due to the luck of the weather, so guests enjoyed canapes such as panko confit duck and sun blushed tomato on the terrace. The couple snuck off for their photoshoot with Lee Daniels Photography, in our stunning woodland grounds, making for the perfect backdrop.
The wedding party arrived in the marquee to enjoy their three course wedding breakfast and speeches. Luke and Lauren chose a menu including duck leg Rosti, pan seared seabass and caramelised banana tart. The extra evening guests arrived just in time for the cake cutting and the first dance, which was to “Lover” by Taylor Swift. The party then continued into the night on our startlit secret dancefloor!
