Alison & Antonia Morbey -
Proprietor & Deputy General Manager


The Morbey family have owned The Old Hall since the 1830’s with each generation adding their own unique character to the property. Alison, lovingly known as Mrs M by the team here, remains head of the house and manages all development projects, as well as the interior and landscape design at our beautiful venue. Antonia is responsible for all day to day runnings and operations, and caringly looks after our whole team. Fuelled by passion, Antonia is very hands on and creates a happy and loving atmosphere for our guests.

Laura Daraskevice -
General Manager

Laura puts guest experiences at the centre of all we do here and makes sure that all of our team live and breathe the same sentiment. Laura understands the importance of every event we hold here, and this drives her to ensure each occasion, from Weddings to Sunday lunches, is an experience not to be missed.

Billy Balaam -
Head Chef

Having joined in 2015, Billy creates and develops all of our menus and cooks delicious dishes for our fine dining evenings alongside our weddings and events. Using local and seasonal produce, Billy ensures each event has the personal touch and his precision and attention to detail is evident in his presentation.

Amy heads up our ever growing Events Team, training them to the highest standards and ensuring every event here runs like clockwork. She shows incredible passion for each and every event we host, and creates our fantastic calendar of in-house events, showing great creativity – there’s nothing she can’t do!

Becca Haswell -
Events & Sales Administrator

Becca is the first person almost all of our customers will meet or speak to at The Old Hall Ely. Her knowledge is second to none, and coupled with her incredible, positive attitude, she always endeavours to inspire and support our couples and guests. You’ll always have a stress free experience with Becca’s support!

Amanda is one of our most versatile Event Managers, having worked across multiple sectors in her career. Amanda shows incredible care and dedication, and coupled with her vibrant personality and passion for all things events, she is an absolute asset to our team.

Emma has vast knowledge and experience in the wedding industry as well as restaurant service. Bringing her unique perspective to our team, Emma elevates guest experience and supports our team to always achieving exceptional service for our guests.

Michele - Events Support

Michele Hendry -

Michele has been with us since 2019 and is a very valued member of the Events Team. During breakfast at The Old Hall Ely, Michele will be here to brighten your morning with a warm welcome. Michele is also often on hand with our brides the morning of their ceremony and is a key part in setting their day off to a special start.

Kate Reader -
Events Support

Kate is a friendly face here at The Old Hall Ely, always arriving with a bubbly and positive attitude. Her experience in events support makes her a natural at welcoming our guests and making them feel at home here. Whether you are celebrating a wedding or joining us for a private dining experience, Kate will be on hand with a smile!

Tammy Coppen -
Events Support

If you’re getting married here with us, Tammy knows all the in’s and out’s of The Old Hall Ely, having been here since 2015. She is often heavily involved in all of our weddings as a massive support to the couple and key member of the Events Team on the day.

Amelia Pilgrim -
Corporate Development Manager

Amelia ensures the highest of standards are met for all of our corporate events and showcases how amazing the team can accommodate any corporate need, from small meeting rooms to large scale awards ceremonies. Amelia is also responsible for our well known Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties, she sure does know how to throw a fantastic party!

Yasmin Dacombe -
Marketing Manager

As our Marketing Manager, Yasmin heads our Marketing Team here at The Old Hall Ely. She is responsible for the planning, organisation and direction of our overall marketing strategy for our weddings, corporate events, luxury hotel stays, private parties and fine dining experiences. Both a creative visionary and analytical thinker, she is an enthusiastic addition to our family.

Emily Palmer -
Marketing Executive

Having worked with us for some years in a front of house position, Emily always arrived with a positive attitude and eager to learn more, leading to her promotion to Marketing Executive. Emily is our creative powerhouse, designing everything from menus to social media content. She is passionate about art and design and showcases it though many outlets here at The Old Hall Ely.

Carmen Heber-Hall -
In House Accountant

Carmen is our in house accountant and is a very valued member of the team. You will receive your invoices from Carmen and may speak to her if you ever have a query or need any clarity. Carmen has copious amounts of experience and is incredibly efficient at making sure our payment schedules remain on track.

Gill Beeton -
PA to the Proprietor

Gill joined the team in 2016 and supports our entire team from venue operations to office co-ordination. Gill also sends all of the Contracts to our couples and ensures the process is stress free. Gill actually married with us in 2013, giving her a real advantage when she is asked for her advice from couples about their wedding plans.  

Deacon - Head Gardener and Handyman

Head Gardener & Handyman

Deacon is a cheerful member of the team here. With 15 years experience in groundskeeping, Deacon is the master behind the maintenance of our house, grounds and gardens. He takes enormous pride in all areas of his work and does everything from implementing sustainable practices, to creating the most scenic topiary gardens.

Rasa Brickuviene -
Head of Housekeeping

Rasa is in charge of maintaining our high standards of cleanliness throughout the house. She busily manages a team of ten housekeepers with the help of supervisors Annie and Saida. As you’ll notice when you visit we have many antiques, and Rasa makes sure they all get the attention they deserve to continue to look their finest.
