A note from the Couple
We couldn’t recommend the Old Hall Ely highly enough! From the pre-wedding planning and food and wine tasting to the day itself, everything felt thoroughly enjoyable and effortless. The wedding organisers and event staff made the wedding day stress-free and are there whenever you need them but also totally invisible, amazing!
The food is innovative and excellent and receive many compliments from our guests as did the spectacular gardens. The Old Hall is stunning and has a warm family feel to it, making it more than just a wedding venue but making it feel like a home. Every colleague from housekeeping to Ms. Morbey genuinely make you feel like they care about your special day and making it perfect.
The Wedding Day at The Old Hall Ely
Therese and Michael’s big day was one to remember, it really was the perfect summer wedding. The couple and some of their guests stayed with us for two nights so they could celebrate the evening before with a delicious dinner. The morning of the wedding, Therese enjoyed breakfast with her maid of honor bright and early to avoid bumping into her future husband, a tradition we love to uphold!
The ceremony began at 1pm at The Pavilion and Therese walked towards Michael with her father by her side. We then went into the drinks reception with canapes of tempura prawns, salmon gravlax and sun blushed tomato, before guests moved into the marquee to continue the celebrations. Speeches were told and then a stunning three course wedding breakfast was served including smoked eel, slow cooked beef and coconut and mango tart.

The evening guests arrived and the happy couple cut the cake before heading onto the terrace for sparklers, which made for the most beautiful photoshoot! Overnight guests headed to their luxury rooms for the night and were welcomed by the team for breakfast the next morning. Photography by Fountain Photography.
