A note from the Couple
I just wanted to send a message to say a massive thank you for everything. We both had the most magical day and couldn’t be more grateful for the efforts of you and your wonderful team. Every single staff member we both encountered was absolutely fantastic, so friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. There really isn’t anything negative I could say about the service we received and the experience we had.
I had staff offering to carry things for me, opening doors for me, giving words of support and even running to get me a glass of water 2 seconds before I walked down the aisle. We are so grateful. We have been flooded with comments from our guests about how incredible you all were and how beautiful the venue was. Thank you so so much.
The Wedding Day at The Old Hall Ely
Tommy and Kathryn had a magical two-night package wedding with us with the celebration beginning on the Thursday afternoon. Guests arrived at The Old Hall Ely and were welcomed to check into their luxury hotel rooms before heading into the Orangery. The couple enjoyed a fun evening of pre wedding celebrations and drinks, as well as a lovely evening buffet served by our talented chefs.
The wedding morning began with a delicious continental breakfast, just in time for the arrival of the beauty team, ready to get the bride ready in the honeymoon suite. With Kathryn, her bridesmaids and flower girls ready for the ceremony, guests began arriving and enjoying welcome drinks at the bar. Kathryn and Tommy went for a harpist which created a beautiful atmosphere during the arrival of their guests.
It was now time for the big moment, Kathryn walked down the aisle alongside her dad to “I choose you” by Ryann Darling. A special moment in the day was Kathryn’s stepdad joining them to finish her walk to Tommy at the end of the aisle, ready for the “I do’s” to begin!
The newlyweds celebrated with a stunning confetti walk outside the house and the drinks reception began, as prosecco and elderflower fizz was served. Canapes of mini Yorkshire pudding, lemon and thyme chicken skewers and tempura broccoli were a hit, whilst the couple snuck off for their photoshoot, creating everlasting memories.
“Walking on sunshine” by Katrina & the waves played as the newlyweds arrived in the beautifully decorated marquee, for their three course wedding breakfast. The meal consisted of Halloumi fries as a starter, slow cooked beef or chicken supreme as a main and oreo, cookie brownie as requested by the couple, for dessert!
The following morning, it was time for the guests to depart their home for the weekend with breakfast served and memories made. Kathryn and Tommy’s day truly was a beautiful one, with emotive skies and great company!
